UIC Celebrates Variety in Research Forum 2013

The University of the Immaculate Conception through its Research and Publication Center held a research forum for 2013 on October 8 at AVR 1, Assumption Building, Bonifacio Campus. Tagged as Research Forum 2013 with theme Research Intersection: Touching Human Lives through Scientific Thinking and Learning, the activity was highlighted by the unveiling of 6 discipline-specific journals, namely, The Ledger (ABA), Arete (LA & Educ), Cloud (ITE), Root Gatherers (Pharmacy), Pulsar (Engineering) and Optima (MLS & Nursing) and the launching of UIC Research Journal-International Edition.
There were plenary session lectures done starting at 10:00 AM, which included Issues on Plagiarism and Authorship by Dr. Renan P. Limjuco; Journal Management by Prof. Eric John G. Emberda and Elements of Editing with 4 C’s of Writing by Prof. Mary Jane G. Barluado.
In the afternoon, 6 streams (Engineering, Health, ITE, Education, Philosophy, and Business) of parallel oral presentations and exhibit of posters were conducted. In terms of entries, the oral presentations had 3 ITE, 5 Philosophy, 5 Health, 6 Education, 8 Business, and 8 Engineering studies while the poster exhibits showcased 5 ITE, 5 Philosophy, 4 Health, 6 Education, 6 Business and 8 Engineering studies.
